5 / 6 October 2024

Welcome to the Harvest Rally, a Navigational Rally running on 5th / 6th October 2024.

In the vein of the 2023 event, we are offering approximately 165 miles of challenging rallying on map 202 including the runs out and back

We welcome Chuley Road Garage who return as the event sponsor, a name that has been linked with SHMC and local motorsport for more years than they care to recall!

South Hams Motor Club have been running night road events since 1972 and we are constantly looking for the “ideal” format, listening to competitors and the changing conditions in the sport and area. We feel accuracy on both sides of the car will be required for a good result on our events.  The South Hams is well known for being tight and twisty as previous entrants will testify – this event is about teamwork and great map-reading skills.

In recent years we have got more of an eye to the future of the sport, trying to encourage more newcomers to step up from 12 car to larger Clubman/Interclub events, and thus the events are being designed to be much kinder to cars, but not necessarily on the crews.

Take on the challenge of 202 and should you win, you will be in great company:  Bruce Millman / Mick Wicks, John Nott / Graham Lacey, Roger Hunt / Graham Dance, James How / Nic Jones, Nick Kelland / Roger Gillard, Phil Harris / James Aldridge… to name a few of the winning crews over the years.

If you entered this rally over the last half century why not return and see how little things have changed?

Starting and finishing at The Passage House Hotel at Kingsteignton, South Devon it is well located just off the A380 for those travelling from afar.

We look forward to receiving your entry which is just £98 and includes two breakfasts!  If you have any questions please ask away, our details are further on in the SRs.

Kevin and the Organising Team.

Marshals Wanted!

As always we need a lot of helpers to make sure the rally runs smoothly - no experience necessary - if you can offer any help on the night (or before) please get in touch.

  • Entry opens at 20.00 hrs, 19th August, 2024

Note about Entries (Article 6/SRs.): ...will be selected in a “first come, first served” basis for the first 40 entries. If after 5 full days after entries open, the maximum number has been reached then the remaining 20 entries will be selected at the “organiser’s discretion”. If it has not been reached at this point, entries will be selected in a “first come first served basis”.

The maximum number for the event is 60, should more entries be received this figure, a reserve list of 10 will be created and will be contacted if an entry becomes available.

Entries will close at Midnight 25th September.

CO2 and Climate change

As part of our commitment to:
•    The protection of the environment
•    Reducing the detrimental impact of events on the environment
•    Improving the sustainability of motorsport in the UK

We donate a small environmental levy from our events to offset the CO2 produced by all competing vehicles, and that of the South Hams Motor Club organisers on the event. We invest this in a local tree planting scheme managed by local charity MOOR TREES to permanently offset the carbon produced and to achieve net-zero carbon for our events.
